In order to provide the students an opportunity to learn the practical way, apart from the theoretical exposure, the Indo-US Research Institute for Sustainable Development decided to form student chapters in the Colleges and encourage the students to actively participate in the various pragramms of IURISD. This would help the students to meet senior executives, who could guide them to build a career when they come out of college.
 
The Student Chapters have their own Committees and are encouraged to have regular programms for their members. The following activities are considered useful to the Student Chapters –

• Get the assistance of IURISD for providing senior executives in industry to lecture on topics of current interest
  
• Promote Industry Institution Interaction
  
• Spread awareness of Industry’s specific needs
  
• Create platform to improve the presentation skills of the students
  
• Inter-institute seminars and presentation skills with reward for best paper/ best student in the discipline
  
• Facilitate opportunities for campus interviews and provide exposure to industrial needs
  

The criteria for enrollment to Student Chapters are that the College or Institute first enrolls itself as an Organizational Member. The Head of the Concerned Dept  would coordinate the Student Chapter's activity by enrolling himself and others as members and forming a committee with himself as the chairman of the section. IURISD will provide guidance in forming the Chapter and conducting the activities. The student members with their active participation in the affairs of the IURISD, can be considered as the future support of the Institution.
